A Few Facts on a Few Confederate Swords

All New Orleans swords have two piece pommel caps, except
naval cutlasses. If it doesn't have a two piece pommel cap,
you may have a serious problem.

Boyle and Gamble Staff and Field Officers swords with the
CS and Star in guard have mushroom (dome) type pommel caps
(see Albaugh's Photographic Supplement of Confederate Swords
page 12 sword hilt at bottom) and if it doesn't, it can be a problem sword.

I do not authenticate swords so please don't email me unless
you are interested in selling a sword. You need a certified
appraiser to authenticate your sword. I can recommend an
